Mr. Channa Wijesekara is the Founder and Chairman of Leema Creations (Pvt) Ltd., a leading wood working and interior fit-out company in Sri Lanka, having over 40 years’ experience in the wood working & interior fit-out industry.
He is an Incorporated Engineer, passed out from University of Moratuwa and worked as a lecturer in charge of the wood working division of Industrial Engineering Training Institute, Moratuwa (IETI) from 1983 to 1995. Later on, he resigned from the government sector and joined the private sector as a Factory Manager and Production Manager of leading wood working and interior fit-out industry companies. After serving 05 years in the private sector, he established his own wood working and interior fit-out company, which has now developed into one of the best and most sought after leading wood working and Interior fit-out companies in Sri Lanka achieving several local and foreign industrial excellence awards .
He is also a curriculum writer and an author of six books published in both Sinhala and English, relating to wood industry training.
He is the present President of “Wood Based Industrialists Association of Sri Lanka (WBIA)” and Chairman of the “Advisory committee on Wood industry sector to Ministry of Industries”. He has once worked as a Board member of “Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL)” and “Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC)”.
- Leema Creations has achieved 26 awards inclusive of 04 International awards and 22 National Industry awards.
