கைத்தொழில்துறையின் மேம்பாட்டிற்காக கைத்தொழில்கள் குறித்த தேசிய கொள்கையை தயாரித்தல்
அமைச்சின் கைத்தொழில் பதிவாளராகச் செயற்படுவதுடன் அனைத்துக் கைத்தொழில்களை பதிவூ செய்வதற்கான பணியாற்றல்.விசா பரிந்துரை மீளாய்வூக் குழுவின் உறுப்பினராகச் செயல்படுதல் மற்றும் வெளிநாட்டு முதலீட்டாளர்கள்இ நிறைவேற்று தரத்திலான அலுவலHகள் மற்றும் பயிற்சிபெற்ற பணியாளர்களுக்கான விசா பரிந்துரை செயல்முறையை நெறிப்படுத்துதல்.

முக்கிய செயல்பாடுகள்

உள்நாட்டில் பெறுமதி வாகனங்கள்இ மின்சாதனங்கள் மற்றும் மின்னணு சாதனங்களை எளிதாக்குதல்
1969 ஆம் ஆண்டின் 1 ஆம் இலக்க இறக்குமதி மற்றும் ஏற்றுமதிச் சட்டத்தின்படி தடைகளுடனான பொருட்கள் குறித்து நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ளுதல்.
வரி சிக்கல்கள் மற்றும் வரி கொள்கைகள் குறித்து நிதி அமைச்சுடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றுதல்.
கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தியை முன்னிட்டு ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் (UN) முகவH நிறுவனங்கள்இ சுற்றாடல் அமைச்சுடன் இணைந்து கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தி தொடர்பான கொள்கைகளை தயாரித்தல்

MAIN FUNCTIONS

Activities related to formulation of policies for the industrial sector of the country, in particular, the National Policy for Industrial Development.
Development of policies and strategies for the industrial sector / sub-sectors, in line with the National Policy for Industrial Development.
Amendment of the Industrial Promotion Act No. 46 of 1990 in consultation with the relevant stakeholders.
Coordinating with the Ministry of Environment and UN Agencies to contribute to the Environmental Policies of the country, and to comply with the criteria set out under the International Environmental Conventions as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) relating to industrial Development.
International trade related activities, in particular, ensuring maximum benefits for local industries and safeguarding their interests through Free / Preferential Trade Agreements of which, Sri Lanka is a party.
Coordinating with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for the development of the industrial sector of Sri Lanka.
