Dr. Sandun Dalpatadu is a professional with an extensive career in Sri Lanka’s mineral resources industry. He currently serves as the Director of Projects at Damsila Resources (Pvt) Ltd, the premier phlogopite mica mining, processing, value addition, and export company in Sri Lanka and has been instrumental in guiding the company toward continuous success. In addition to his pivotal role at Damsila Resources (Pvt) Ltd., Dr. Dalpatadu serves as the Managing Director of Krishna Mining Company (Ceylon) Limited, one of the country’s oldest and most reputable mineral resource companies. He also serves as the Managing Director of Polyzon Industries (Pvt) Ltd.

Beyond his corporate roles, Dr. Dalpatadu makes significant contributions to the industry at various levels. He was appointed as a member of the Industrialization Commission under the Ministry of Industries by the Hon President and serves as the Secretary of the Chamber of Mineral Exporters Sri Lanka. The Chamber of Mineral Exporters is a collaborative initiative comprising leading companies involved in mining, processing, value addition, and export of minerals and mineral related products. Furthermore, he actively engages with the tertiary education sector in Sri Lanka through his partnerships with the University of Colombo. He provides valuable input towards materials research-related training for students and have established R&D collaborations with the university to further materials research utilizing Sri Lankan minerals.

Through these roles, he actively contributes to enhance the industry’s potential and collectively addresses challenges, demonstrating his unwavering dedication, and exploration of novel avenues for value addition and growth in the mineral resources sector.

Dr Dalapatadu holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree and a PhD from Monash University.
