Mr. Tissa Kumarasiri Vithanage is the Founder and Chairman of Cocotech Exports Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., a leading Coir based horticultural products manufacturing and exporting company in Sri Lanka, having over 30 years’ experience in the Coir Industry.

He incorporated Cocotech Exports Lanka (Pvt) Ltd for manufacturing and exporting of Coir Based Horticultural products for the foreign market in 1998 which has now developed into one of the best coir-based product companies in Sri Lanka achieving several industrial excellence awards from as National Chamber of Exporters and Industrial Development Board.

He is an incorporated Electrical Engineer (B. (Tech)), passed out from the Open University of Sri Lanka and he has 18 years in work experience in private sector companies, Inter Coir (Pvt) Ltd, Industrial Engineers, Chars P Hayleys Haymat, Way Coir (Pvt) Ltd in the senior management capacity such as technical officer, Executive in charge, project manager and Technical Director.

He also designs, Fabricates and develops of coir-based production machines, Geo Textiles, compressed rolling machines, Sheet forming units, hydraulic pressers, pot forming presses, High density coir yarn knitting machines for river filtration for get improve the Coir Industry.

He is presently performing as the Chairman of the “Advisory committee on Coir Industry Sector to Ministry of Industries” and the Chairman of the “Advisory committee on Coir Industry Sector to Export Development Board”
