Increase regional trade through bilateral and multilateral agreements and obtain market access for Sri Lankan exports
Main Functions
Tariff
- Identification of anomalies and distortions in the tariff structure.
- Forward recommendations to National Council for Economic Development (NCED) on tariff issues.
Trade and Trade Agreements
- Analyzing the impact of bilateral and multilateral trade and tariff agreements on industrial sector with a view to propose corrective action if and when required.
- Study the WTO agreement in detail in order to facilitate industrial sector to face the competition.
